Lucy and Yak is a hugely popular brand that is most well known for its dungarees. The brand is doing a great job at getting sustainability out there, and because their clothing is so unique and fun, the sustainable and ethical aspect of Lucy and Yak is almost second place. Their main factory is in India, and they are currently installing solar panels to hopefully power the factory using 100% renewable energy. They also list all of the factory workers on their website, and when you buy certain items, they have a number on a label that tells you who made them. 98% of their fabrics are organic or recycled. They use GOTS certified cotton, recycled polyester made from plastic bottles, and seacell – a material made from seaweed and wood pulp and 100% biodegradable. They also use planet-friendly dyes to add bright colours to their garments. I think their bold, colourful clothes and unique patterns are effective at making the brand stand out from other sustainable brands, and I think it is one of the most popular slow fashion brands out there.
