To test out how my patchwork would look on my final piece, I created a sample from scrap bits of fabric I had leftover from past projects making sure they were all similar in colour. To start, I cut the fabric into various different rectangles and squares, then sewed them together in an irregular pattern with a very small hem using a sewing machine. I think the outcome looks effective, the colours work well together and although the patterns clash, it creates quite a unique look. In my final piece, I will probably use other colours along with green to add more of a colour variation and give the trousers a pop of colour and will cut the shapes more accurately so all the pieces fit together more easily.
