I find the different materials and techniques that the designers were using super exciting, and it shows the variety of alternatives we could be using instead of the more damaging textiles made from synthetics and cotton. All the options are innovative and seem like great choices as they all minimise water use and pollution, and more importantly, they can break down once they are thrown away into nontoxic elements. Another bonus is that many of the substances can be grown to fit molds, so there are no cutting garments out of square pieces of fabric, preventing any waste that way. It’s amazing to see that there are so many more eco-friendly options than chemicals and synthetic fibres and that they are not being utilized is crazy.
